Biometric Verification

The Biometric Verification (BMV) feature in Fusion offers a secure and intelligent method for verifying user identity through fingerprint data. It is tailored for high-security applications, capturing fingerprint information from all eight fingers and transmitting it to the designated approval authority for official validation
BMV ensures:

  • Rapid, accurate, and reliable identity verification.
  • Minimized operational disruptions.
  • Comprehensive monitoring of verification activities via the web dashboard.

How to Perform Biometric Verification

Follow the steps below to scan and verify your document using the in-app document verification feature:

Step 1:

  • Select the Get started button

Step 4:
Once processed, your verification result (Verified or Declined) will be displayed on-screen and recorded on the web dashboard. If the session times out or another error occurs, the corresponding status will also be shown on-screen

The Biometric Verification (BMV) Dashboard serves as a centralized interface for monitoring fingerprint-based identity verification activities and outcomes.
It is designed to assist you:

  • Obtaining an immediate overview of verification performance through key metrics.
  • Identifying trends and anomalies via visual charts.
  • Examining individual events in detail through the event table.

Data Overview

The top section displays key metrics, including:

  • Total Requests Received: The total count of all submitted biometric verification attempts.
  • Requests Verified: The number of successfully validated attempts.
  • Requests Declined: The number of rejected or failed attempts.

These metrics provide a quick assessment of overall volume and success rates.

Graphs

Biometric Requests (Last 7 Days)

This chart provides a day-by-day view of biometric verification activity over the past week. It displays:

  • Total Requests: The complete number of verification attempts submitted each day.
  • Verified Requests: The number of attempts that were successfully validated.
  • Declined Requests : The number of attempts that failed or were rejected.

By reviewing this chart, you can easily identify spikes, dips, or unusual patterns in activity, helping to spot potential system issues or abnormal usage trends at a glance.

Invalid Biometric Events

A breakdown of the top failure reasons for declined requests, showing both totals and percentages. Example causes include:

  • Data extraction errors
  • Timeouts
  • Blurred images

These insights help teams focus on addressing the most frequent issues.

List View

A searchable, paginated list of individual verification attempts. Each entry displays:

  • Device ID: The unique identifier of the device used.
  • Device Model: The reported handset model.
  • Operating System: The operating system and version.
  • Status: Indication of whether the attempt was Verified or Failed.
  • Reason: For failed attempts, the specific cause.

Filters

Refine the table results by selecting:

  • Device Model
  • Operating System
  • Status

These filters allow you to focus on specific devices, platforms, or outcomes.

Failure Reasons

Biometric verification may fail for the following reasons:

  • Timeout: The process fails if no fingerprints are detected within 120 seconds.
  • Cancellation: The verification concludes unsuccessfully if the user closes the app prior to completion.
  • No Camera: The attempt cannot proceed without a functional device camera.
  • No Autofocus: Verification fails if the camera is unable to focus and capture a clear image.
  • No Flashlight: The scan may fail in low-light conditions without a device flashlight.
  • Camera Permission Denied: The process cannot initiate without granted camera access.
  • Scanning Error: The attempt may fail due to incorrect finger positioning or blurred images.
  • Miscellaneous Error: The process halts in the event of any unexpected or undefined errors during verification.
